Welcome to my web page!

My name is María Fernández-Babineaux, I was born in Lima, Perú. I am presently the Director of Graduate Studies in Spanish at Texas A&M University-Commerce. My primary research interest is Dystopian Discourses in Contemporary Latin American Literature/Culture, and in Peninsular Literature (1936-1975 period).

I am currently working on two projects:

Children’s Literature banned during Franco’s regime
Patrícia Galvão’s work and performance as a feminist, communist and mother
