Keep a Poem in your Pocket

By Beatrice Schenk de Regniers

Keep a poem in your pocket

And a picture in your head

And you’ll never feel lonely

At night when you’re in bed.

The little poem will sing to you

The little picture bring to you

A dozen dreams to dance to you

At night when you’re in bed.

So - -

Keep a picture in your pocket

And a poem in your head

And you’ll never feel lonely

At night when you’re in bed

Heaven's Gate

taught to me by an anonymous 8 year old student

Humble we must be

If to Heaven we go

High is the roof there

But the gate is low

Swiftly Like a Dove

taught to me by an anonymous student

If you need me I'll be there

Mountain high valley low

Swiftly like a dove

Comes on wings of love

Fido

I've got a dog and his name is Fido

I have raised him from a pup

He can stand up on his hind legs

If you hold his front legs up

Old Woman

There was an old woman

Once tossed up in a basket

Seventeen times as high as the moon

And where she would wander

I could help not but ask

Wherever she went she carried a broom

Old woman, old woman

Old woman, said I

Whither and whither and which do go thy?

To sweep the cobwebs from the sky

And I'll be with you bye and bye

Red River Valley

From this valley they say you are going
We will miss your bright eyes and sweet smile
For they say you are taking the sunshine
That has brightened our path for a while

Come and sit by my side if you love me
Do not hasten to bid me adieu
But remember the Red River Valley
And the cowboy who loved you so true

Won't you think of the valley you're leaving
Oh how lonely, how sad it will be?
Oh think of the fond heart you're breaking
And the grief you are causing to me

As you go to your home by the ocean
May you never forget those sweet hours
That we spent in the Red River Valley
And the love we exchanged mid the flowers

Clementine

In a cavern, in a canyon,
Excavating for a mine
Dwelt a miner forty niner,
And his daughter Clementine

Chorus: Oh my darling, oh my darling,
Oh my darling, Clementine!
Thou art lost and gone forever
Dreadful sorry, Clementine

Light she was and like a fairy,
And her shoes were number nine,
Herring boxes, without topses,
Sandals were for Clementine.

Chorus

Drove she ducklings to the water
Ev'ry morning just at nine,
Hit her foot against a splinter,
Fell into the foaming brine.

Chorus

Ruby lips above the water,
Blowing bubbles, soft and fine,
But, alas, I was no swimmer,
So I lost my Clementine.

Chorus

How I missed her! How I missed her,
How I missed my Clementine,
But I kissed her little sister,
I forgot my Clementine.

Chorus

Take me out to the ball game!

Take me out to the ball game,
Take me out with the crowd.
Buy me some peanuts and Cracker Jack,
I don't care if I never get back,
Let me root, root, root for the home team,
If they don't win it's a shame.
For it's one, two, three strikes, you're out,
At the old ball game.

Jesus Loves Me

Jesus loves me, this I know,
For the Bible tells me so,
Little ones to him belong.
They are weak but he is strong

Yes, Jesus loves me,
Yes, Jesus loves me,
Yes, Jesus loves me,
The Bible tells me so.

Psalm 23 The Good Shepherd Psalm

The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want

He makes me lie down in green pastures

He restores my soul

He leads me in paths of righteousness

For his name's sake

Even though I walk through

the valley of the shadow of death

I fear no evil for you are with me

Your rod and your staff comfort me

You prepare a table before me

In the presence of my enemies

You anoint my head with oil

My cup overflows

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me

All the days of my life

And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

Bear Hunt!

Chorus: We're going on a bear hunt (echo)

We're gonna have a good time (echo)

(together) What a beautiful day!

First we need  a knapsack, then add a little juice.

A cracker, a candle, and a salamander goose.

What else?

Chorus

We go outside and lock the door, we walk into the field

Swishy, swishy Swishy swishy

We cut across the creek through the mud

Splot splot splot splot

Splash Splash Splash

We shake out on the other side, nice and dry

brlrlrlrlrlrlrlrlrlrlrlrlrlrlr

Chorus

Look! There's bear mountain. We climb it.

Uhn, uhn uhn uhn!

Chorus

And walk into a cave.

It's dark in here! We didn't bring a light.

It's cold in here, except along this side.

It's warm, it's furry, it's fuzzy, except right here,

where it's cold and round, wet and slimy

It's a BEAR, let's get outa here!

Row Row Row your boat

Row, row, row your boat
Gently down the stream.
Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily,
Life is but a dream.

Mister Rogers' Big Work Version

Propel propel propel your craft

Down the liquid solution

Ecstatically, ecstatically, ecstatically, ecstatically

Existence is but an illusion

Ten Little Monkeys

Ten Little monkeys jumping on a bed,
one jumped up and bumped his head,
Mom called the Doctor and the doctor said
........"no more monkeys jumping on a bed."

You Are My Friend

by Fred Rogers

You are my friend you are special

You are my friend, you're special to me

There's no one else in the whole world like you

You are special.
