Funded by a $992,663 grant from the National Science Foundation, Texas A&M University- Commerce is partnering with Northeast Texas middle schools to offer an innovative grant program, M2T2, which will utilize gaming, 3-D visualizations, and other gaming strategies to relate math, science, and technology to real world phenomenon. Students and teachers from surrounding rural school districts will be included in this program. Each school district will have a team of two teachers and twelve students that will participate in a two week summer camp and workshops/field trips that will take place during the year long program. The goal of M2T2 is to foster an interest in science, math, and technology while students are in middle school, so the students will be more likely to pursue these areas in college and beyond.
