OBJECTIVES:

1. To learn about the different types of jazz.
2. To gain an understanding of jazz language and concepts.
3. To survey the history of the development of jazz.

RESOURCES/MATERIALS:

• Jazz Records, Jazz Cds, and Jazz cassettes.


• Record player, CD player, and Cassette player.


• Earphones.



ACTIVITIES:

1. Students will listen to various types of jazz and deceipher the differences.

FOLLOW-UP:

There will be class discussions about jazz, the various types, and how jazz changed from the time of the Harlem Renaissance until today.
