Dissecting A Virtual Frog

OBJECTIVES:

  1. Students will dissect a frog on the WWW.

  2. Students will label and color the parts.

  3. Students will rebuild the frog after dissection.

  4. Students will test their frog-building abilities after the lesson.

RESOURCES/MATERIALS:

ACTIVITIES:

  1. Teacher logs onto the internet. (PC/Mac monitor displayed on large TV or wall screen is helpful)

  2. Go toVirtual Frog Dissection Kit
  3. Students and teacher dissect the frog on the internet.
  4. Teacher passes out teacher made or commercial worksheet.
  5. Start with the internet frog at the nerves. Students label and color the parts on the worksheet to match the internet labels and colors. Students can also copy short definition of each organ at top of page.
  6. When the internet frog is put back together, click on "information page" (hyper link) at the bottom of the page.
  7. Click on "Virtual Frog Builder Game" (hyper link).
  8. Have the class play the game together by putting the frog back together one part at a time. Remember, the parts must be put back from bottom to top in order to successfully complete the game.
