Whether you are finding resources to assist and support you as a teacher or whether you are finding activities for your students to use in class, the internet offers a wide array to choose from.

Science Organizations & Programs

NSTA (National Science Teachers Assoc.): Current information including national science standards. Log in as GUEST if you are not a member to read/comment on topics integrating science (multicultural, technology, etc).

Society for Amateur Scientists: Get information about scientists around the world, ideas for science fair projects, as well as your very own membership to SAS (Society for Amateur Scientists)
Young Scientist Program: A program promoting science with underprivileged youth.

Ask A Scientist

Ask A Geologist: Now all those questions you had dealing with geology can be asked and answered by a real scientist.
Ask A Volcanologist: Now your burning questions concerning can be asked and answered. Read the other popular questions asked by students...it's hot!
Ask A Canadian Scientist: E-mail your question along wih your name, etc. Afterwards, you will probably want to check out their home page for other resources.

Super Science Sites

General Common Science Themes: Wide variety of activities and ideas relating to science.
Temparture/Weather Information: Access current and interesting information dealing with weather. Get current weather temperatures to use in math, science, social studies, etc. This could easily be integrated into many subject areas. Definitely INTERDISCIPLINARY FRIENDLY!
Bill Nye The Science Guy: A must for any elementary student interested in science. Daily demos are great activities that can be done in class or as part of projects. Search capabilities will prove to be a valuable science search engine. Made for the scientist in you!
Department of Entomology, Colorado State University (Insects): Pictures, movies, as well as other resources are available for any and all insect lovers...even recipes! If you feel you just can't get enough of the things that bug you, you can check out their page of colleges and universities offering degrees in Entomology.
Internet Directory for Botany (Plants): This site has an exaustive list of places to surf in order to get specific information. Here you will find everything from a Russian botanist group to some local county rose garden clubs. This will probably serve as a good springboard to connect you with specific plant topic(s).
Neuroscience for Kids: This web site is for K-12 students and teachers who are interested in studying the nervous system. This site contains an excellent collection of on line activities and resources -- something for your classroom too!
Microscope Primer: Check out how to set up and use a microscope...with a camer! Wide variety of cool microscope slide pictures to view. Enter to get your free calendar while you're here!
Build-It-Yourself: Learn all about inventions and some famous inventors.
Inventure: Another neat site for those kinesthetic kids!
