English and History Resources

I have been trying to integrate computers and technology into the regular academic classroom since I began teaching five years ago. I use as much technology as possible in both my English and history classes, and I encourage my peers to do likewise. Unfortunately, the setup at Mabank does not allow for student computer use in areas other than actual computer classes. Not every teacher even has a computer in the classroom! Sometimes I feel I'm in an uphill struggle, but my goal is to eventually be a technology coordinator in an area high school, perhaps even at Mabank, and so I will persevere in trying to use technology in academics.

Centering in on resources for history and English, there are many, many sites on the web for these subjects, as well as lesson plans and research sites for teachers. Many of the web sites are for direct involvement with the students, while others are more for teacher-only research.
