Integrating Computers in Middle School Lesson Plans

  1. TLW list events in sequence.

  2. RESOURCES/MATERIALS:

ACTIVITIES:

  1. (Displayed on the Computer by AV link or on overhead.) Students will respond to the following journal entry. (Teachers: place list of events out order and ask students to put in correct order. Ask students of importance to this.

  2. Read book that you chose aloud to the students.

  3. On the overhead or computer with TV solicit answers and list events as they occurred in the story..

  4. Discuss with students real life events that we do in order. a. witness to a crime b. recipes c. booting up a program

  5. In groups of 4 have students put already prepared and out of order cartoon strips in order.

  6. EXTRA: Teachers a short worksheet would be great here for student who finish before others.

  7. HOMEWORK: On a full size poster board, students will construct a 10-15 square story board illustrating the events in which they occurred in the book.
