Study Guide

The study guide is provided for you in order that you may better prepare for the quizzes and final exam.  We provide both the topics and skills you are supposed to have learned broken down by chapter, as well as additional written and programming exercises from the textbook that you may find helpful in better understanding the topics. 

These suggested exercises will not be handed in for grading.  However, I might sometimes ask for volunteers to do the exercises in class or even pick “volunteers” at random.  Even if you don’t completely do the exercises you should be confident that you know how to do them before coming into class.

Many of the questions in the exams and the final exam will be similar to the study guide exercises.  So this is yet another reason you may want to look at them more carefully while you are doing your readings of the textbook.  The answers to the study guide exercises will be posted on this page after we have covered the materials in class.
