Students must meet these requirements before receiving approval for
internship and for approval to take TExES 117.
Students who fail to meet the major program requirements will be
offered a remediation plan.
1. Complete all required course work, including a minimum of 15 hours
of upper-level (300 or 400) level courses in English while in residence
at
A&M-Commerce (does not apply to alternative certification students).
2. Pass the upper-level English courses that are TExES designated
(English
300 and 333) with a grade of “B” or higher.
3. Earn no more than one “C" grade in all other upper-level English
courses.
Grades lower than "C" do not count toward program requirements.
4. Earn a GPA of at least 3.0 in upper-level (300-400) English courses
or a GPA of at least 3.5 in graduate courses.
5. Earn a THEA Reading Score of at least 250 (College of Education
requirement).
